Toyota and American Top Rival Collaborate Toward a Common Goal

Toyota has announced plans to collaborate with Ford to develop a rear wheel drive hybrid system. It might seem odd that these two competitors would join together but it makes perfect sense. These two companies have complementary expertise and one common goal in mind. While Japanese automaker Toyota brings to the table roughly 10 years of experience working with hybrid technology, the Blue Oval offers vast knowledge of the Pickup and SUV segments.
An official agreement has not been signed as of yet but for the meantime a memorandum of understanding has been. An official agreement is expected next year…
